Native New Yorker Composer & Acoustic guitarist Joseph de Dominicis Reveals New Bluesy Single with Eleven Songs to Follow

Joseph de Dominicis, aka Joe D, is pleased to present his new single, “Friday at 5”,

to be released on Friday, February 20, on the label CAROL MRP Co. 

It is the first of twelve solo acoustic instrumental guitar recordings to be released this year. 

Joseph de Dominicis draws inspiration from standards as well as contemporary pop and blends these diverse influences, shaping them into a timeless, melodic sound. 

 

The songs were recorded at Threshold Recording Studios in Manhattan, New York, in the fall of 2025. They were produced by Joseph de Dominicis, engineered and mixed by Simon Brown, and mastered by . 

 

Joseph de Dominicis says: “It has been a long journey since the release of the first album with music & lyrics penned by me. I am over the moon happy to reveal these new recordings with myself as the recording artist. The sessions at Threshold Studios were an inspirational experience. These new recordings open a new chapter for me as a songwriter and acoustic guitarist.”

 

His first album, ‘Joseph de Dominicis Songs: Volume 1' with vocals and piano by Gloria Cooper, was written in the American Songbook tradition and illustrates his talent as a tunesmith and lyricist. 

​Dave Nathan of AllMusic described Joe's lyrics as "clever and sophisticated" and wrote that ”his lyrics are intelligent, interesting and occasionally humorous..."

 

With these new recordings, Joseph de Dominicis aspires to showcase his versatility as a composer and acoustic guitarist, delivering a rich and pleasing sound for listeners. He plays fingerstyle on a seven-string archtop acoustic guitar. 

 

These are instrumental recordings, but the songs were penned with lyrics.
